Abstract: This study analyzes the representation of Peru in the Anglo-Saxon press in China from 1871 to 1939, a period marked by significant interest in understanding the economic, political, and social conditions of Latin America and Peru, particularly regarding the living and working conditions of Chinese immigrants residing there. While much research on the Chinese presence in Peru has focused on how Peruvians perceived Chinese immigrants, this work aims to contribute to the analysis of Peru's image in China, specifically through the English-language newspapers regularly published in Shanghai.
