The Millennium Nucleus ICLAC will teach together with the Center for Asian Studies and the Confucius Institute UC the new Continuing Education course “China in the 21st century: relations with Chile and Latin America”, directed by the researcher and alternate director of ICLAC, María Montt.
The program is interdisciplinary and will address aspects of China's history, geography, political situation, current economic situation, and perspectives that are relevant internationally, to understand the growing impact that the Asian country has had on Latin America and the world.
The course is organized by the UC Asian Studies Center, directed by ICLAC associate researcher, Nicole Jenne, seeks to provide participants with the necessary tools that allow a multilateral approach to the relationship between China and Latin America and is divided into four large areas: Politics and International Relations, History, and Geography, Economy and Culture. Classes will be held online and synchronously on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., between April 23 and June 6, 2024.
The teaching team is composed of the ICLAC researchers: Maria Montt, Francisco Urdinez, Johannes Rehner, Nicole Jenne, Andres Borquez and Jose Miguel Vidal. Academic Marcelo E. González Zúñiga is also part of the teaching team.
