Between April 7th-9th, 2025, Francisco Urdinez, ICLAC director participated in the international workshop "African Futures: Just transitions, innovation and the Africa-China relationship", held in Nairobi, Kenya. The event was organized by Dialogue Earth, the Instituto Raoul Wallenberg and the Universidad de Nairobi.
The meeting brought together experts from diverse regions to analyze links between human rights, environment, and energy transitions in the context of the Africa-China relationship. During his intervention, Urdinez shared his experience in international relations and South-South cooperation, highlighting challenges and opportunities facing Global South regions in sustainable development.
Additionally, he presented the Regional Repository of Chinese Investments in Latin America, a digital tool developed by ICLAC together with The Inter-American Dialogue. This repository allows georeferencing Chinese foreign direct investment (FDI) in Latin America, facilitating analysis and tracking of these investment flows in the region.
