The Millennium Nucleus on China's Impacts in Latin America and the Caribbean (ICLAC) is pleased to announce the opening of the call for the ICLAC Graduate Scholarship 2026. This initiative is aimed at regular students in master's or doctoral programs at the five host universities of the project: Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Universidad de Chile, Universidad Católica del Norte, Universidad de Tarapacá, and Universidad Diego Portales.
The scholarship's objective is to support students whose research aligns with the Nucleus's general goal: to deepen understanding of the political, socioeconomic, and cultural consequences of China's "capital boom" in the region.
The main research areas are:
- Chinese actors and their strategies in Latin America.
- Subnational impacts of Chinese investment and trade in Latin America.
Benefits for the scholarship recipient:
- Annual gross stipend of up to CLP $2,500,000.
-Connection with academics who are members of the Millennium Nucleus ICLAC.
-Opportunity for academic development, including co-authorship of scientific articles.
-Option to join as a thesis student under the guidance of one of the Principal Investigators.

-Be enrolled in a master's or doctoral program.
-Thesis or final project proposal (maximum 1 page).
-Motivation letter (maximum 1 page).
-CV (maximum 2 pages).
