His main area of research is international political economy, particularly related to the economic rise of China. He also has an interest in the use of quantitative methods in International Relations. Currently, he studies coercive diffusion processes in which China conditions its trading partners, and China’s use of economic diplomacy, as well as South-South relations between China and Brazil.
