Free online course to undestand China and its relationship with Latin America

What do we know about China and its impact on Latin America? How has our relationship with the Asian giant evolved? How does it influence our country economically and politically? To answer these and other questions, the Millennium Nucleus on China's Impact in Latin America and the Caribbean (ICLAC) has developed a free online course that provides a comprehensive perspective on this relationship.

The course is designed for a general audience. It requires no prior knowledge, making it a unique opportunity to engage with a culture that, despite being geographically distant, maintains deep ties with Latin America. Over four weeks, participants will explore the history of Chinese migration in the region, trade and diplomatic exchanges, and the current geopolitical dynamics shaping this relationship.

The program has been developed by an interdisciplinary team of experts in history, anthropology, political science, international relations, economics, and geography. The course offers an academic and regional approach to China's impact on Latin America. The course is asynchronous, allowing participants to progress at their own pace.

Registration is now open, and spots are limited. The course begins in April 2025. Those interested can sign up through this link.
