Abstract: The People's Republic of China plays a crucial role in the economy of Latin America, specifically in Chile. The growing presence of Chinese companies in Chile has sparked controversies and disagreements in the public debate. This policy paper focuses on two cases to analyze the media treatment and legal context of Chinese investments and companies in Chile. It proposes a general framework to foster a balanced discussion about the presence of Chinese companies and investment in Chile.
