On April 8th, the III CELAC-China High-Level Academic Forumwas held, a bi-regional dialogue space that commemorated ten years of cooperation between China and Latin America and the Caribbean, within the framework of the CELAC-China Forum. The event, held at CEPAL headquarters in Santiago, Chile, featured participation from researchers Claudia Labarca and Dorotea López from Millennium Nucleus ICLAC.
Researcher Claudia Labarca, academic at UC Communications Faculty, moderated thematic session 1: "Synergies between China and Latin America and the Caribbean for sustainable growth and productive transformation". Meanwhile, Dorotea López, director of the Institute of International Studies at the University of Chile, moderated thematic session 3: "Ecological civilization and sustainable development facing climate change challenges"..
Additionally, our Millennium Nucleus ICLAC visiting researcher Ricardo Lopes Kotz, participated as speaker in thematic session 2: "New spaces for cooperation in science, technology and innovation", where he shared reflections on opportunities and challenges in these key areas for regional development.
The forum was organized by the Institute of Latin American Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (ILAS-CASS) and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (CEPAL), and featured participation from diplomatic authorities, academics, representatives from international organizations, and the business world.
