Kerry Ratigan

PhD in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Amherst College, Massachusetts, EE.UU.

Her research focuses on the relationship between China and Latin America, particularly how economic relations with China influence global public opinion toward this global power. Previously, she has published research on China’s domestic politics, decentralization, and welfare state policies.

Her book, Local Politics and Social Policy in China: Let Some Get Healthy First (Cambridge, 2022), argues that local dynamics produce variation in social policies across different provinces of China. 

Her previous publications appear in World Development, The China Quarterly, Journal of Chinese Governance, International Political Science Review, and Studies in International Comparative Development, among others.
