The principal investigator of the Millennium Nucleus ICLAC and professor at the Institute of International Studies (IEI), Andrés Bórquez, participated in the "2024 ANU China in the World Forum", organized from August 28 to 30 by the Australian National University (ANU). The forum brought together researchers from various regions studying China.
This year's forum was titled "Navigating US-China Rivalry: Responses from the Pacific RIM" and aimed to examine the consequences of the rivalry between the United States and China for middle powers and smaller states in the Pacific Basin. Notably, the event featured 40 international guests, among whom the ICLAC researcher was the only Latin American to present research.
During the event, Bórquez presented the findings of a study conducted with Dorotea López, ICLAC's principal investigator and director of the IEI, which sought to capture Chile's responses and resilience capacity in the face of a more complex scenario due to tensions between the powers.
