On November 23 and 24, ICLAC researcher Juliana González Jauregui , of FLACSO-Argentina, participated in the World Conference on China Studies, which took place in Shanghai.
Julia participated in the fourth subforum entitled “Progression of Scholarship: Inter-generational Transmission and Paradigm Shifts in China Studies” with her presentation “The capacity for knowledge generation on LAC – China relations: strengths and challenges”. The expert addressed the main topics researched in China and Latin America studies, the gaps that exist in research on China in Latin America and from there, the challenges and opportunities faced by researchers, and the institutions in the region concerning how to investigate and generate knowledge about China.
The event was organized in four parallel subforums and brought together more than 400 academics and opinion leaders from different disciplinary areas and different countries, with the aim of analyzing topics related to China and Chinese studies.
