This Wednesday, November 15, the Belt and Road Seminar and China-Chile Relationswill be held, an event organized by the ICLAC Millennium Nucleus together with the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Chile.
The event will feature the participation of academics from the Institute of Latin American Studies ILAS – CASS and the Millennium Nucleus ICLAC aims to foster a constructive dialogue that addresses the achievements, challenges, and opportunities present in the Belt and Road Initiative and relations between Chile and China.
The Seminar will be organized across two roundtables with different panelists. The first panel “The Role and Effect of the Belt and Road in China – Chile Relations ” will be moderated by Dorotea López, ICLAC researcher and director of the Institute of International Studies of the University of Chile, and will be composed of:
- Yue Yunxia, Director of the Department of Economics of ILAS, CASS
- Carlos Olguín, Former Director of the Asia Pacific region at the Foreign Ministry
- Andrés Bórquez, Professor at the Institute of International Studies, Coordinator of the Asian Studies Program at the University of Chile and ICLAC researcher
- Diego Araya, Subrei, Minrel
The second panel, “China and Chile as partners of the Belt and Road: potentialities and perspectives”, will be moderated by Claudia Labarca, ICLAC researcher and academic at the UC Faculty of Communications, and will have as panelists:
- Chai Yu, Director of ILAS, CASS
- Zhou Zhiwei, Head of CASS International Relations Department
- Mauricio Benitez, SW Consulting
- Johannes Rehner, ICLAC researcher and Director of the UC Institute of Geography
- Antonia Lorie, Florence Munoz, UC Institute of Geography
