ICLAC and WOL Webinar Discusses China's Ecological Civilization

Last Friday, May 10, the first session of the "China Powers" webinar series was held. This event was organized by Worlds of Lithium (WOL), a project led by researchers Cristóbal Bonelli and Pablo Ampuero from the University of Amsterdam, in collaboration with the Millenium Nucleus ICLAC.

The first seminar, titled "China’s Ecological Civilisation", featured researchers Stevan Harrell, emeritus professor at the University of Washington and author of An Ecological History of Modern China; Anna Lake Zhu, assistant professor at Wageningen University; and Huang Ping, a researcher at the University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.

The seminar covered various topics, including the concept of ecological civilization and its connection to China, its characteristics and challenges for implementation, socio-ecological infrastructure, and new ways of understanding urban development.

The next session will be held on Friday, May 24, at 09:00 hrs (Chile time) via Zoom and YouTube, focusing on China’s role in the global circulation of electromobility technologies. The speakers for this session will be Gong Huiwen from the University of Stavanger; Juliana González Jauregui, ICLAC adjunct researcher and academic at FLACSO Argentina; and Ágnes Szunomár from Corvinus University.
