- What do you expect from your visit to Chile?
I look forward to meeting Chile’s practitioners from the healthcare industry and Chile’s policymakers, and to understanding their perceptions of China. Moreover, I want to learn more about China’s cooperation with Chile’s different sectors, including economic and social aspects. ICLAC offers me a lot of help and I am grateful.

Close trading partners yet with a lot of unfamiliarities about each other’s cultures. It’s intriguing to think about what are they and why they exist.

- What's your favorite place in Chile until now?
The scenery and the warm welcomes from the locals. In Chinese, there is a saying “最美麗的風景是人”(The most beautiful scenery is people). This can definitely be applied to Chile!

- What book are you reading?
I like stories related to personal experiences. I am currently reading “Pistachios in My Pocket” by Sareh Farmand, it is a collection of poems and prose which feature the Iranian writer and her family’s experience as immigrants in Canada.
For understanding more about contemporary China, I would recommend Chinese American historian Yü Ying-shih (余英時)’s “From Rural China to the Ivy League: Reminiscences of Transformations in Modern Chinese History by Yü Ying-Shih”.
