Researchers Francisco Urdinez , María Montt and Andrés Bórquez represented the ICLAC Millennium Nucleus at the 6th FLAUC Meeting, held on December 5 and 6 at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. This gathering brought together prominent universities from Latin America and Fudan University to explore opportunities and challenges in Latin America-China cooperation, focusing on innovation, sustainable development, and economic growth.
Over the two days, key topics such as geopolitics, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, sustainable development, and energy transition were discussed. These conversations highlighted the importance of building a cooperative agenda that takes into account the region's specific capacities and needs.
During the meeting, ICLAC directors Francisco Urdinez and María Montt presented the progress and future projections of the nucleus. Additionally, researcher Andrés Bórquez shared his work titled Realism without giving up hegemony: American strategy in the contest for data governance with China, which focused on the competition between the United States and China over data governance.
