On October 25th, the ICLAC Millennium Nucleus hosted a delegation of Chinese academics to exchange ideas on the impact of China in Latin America, in collaboration with other Chilean researchers and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Chile.
During the meeting, advancements in relations between China and Latin America, international challenges, and opportunities for academic cooperation were discussed.
The Chinese academic delegation included Professors Jia Qingguo and Guo Jie from Peking University, Cui Shoujun from the Renmin University of China, Wang Cuiwen from Nankai University, Zhang Jieyu from the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) and Liu Jialu from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the other hand, the academics who accompanied us during the event were ICLAC researchers Francisco Urdinez, María Montt, Nicole Jenne, Andrés Bórquez, Juan Enrique Serrano, Andrea Freites and Carol Chan. Also present were researchers Jorge Sahd from CEI UC, Giovannina Sutherland from the Millennium Institute Base, Sergio Rivero from ECLAC, and some representatives from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Chile.
