Andrés Bórquez, Principal Researcher at the Millennium Nucleus Impacts of China in Latin America and the Caribbean (ICLAC), recently made a trip to China to establish ties of cooperation and collaboration with educational institutions in China. The visit is part of a process of internationalization of the Institute of International Studies of the University of Chile, in addition to making the ICLAC Millennium Nucleus known to educational institutions in China.
During his visit, Bórquez participated in various events, including a discussion between students and professors from Tsinghua University and parliamentarians from the Chilean delegation that accompanied President Boric on his state visit to the Asian country.
Bórquez highlighted the positive reception received by the ICLAC Millennium Nucleus project by Chinese academics and students: “I think the reception has been quite positive, and there is also a lot of expectation of what the Millennium Nucleus can do; they are interested to know more about our project, our Nucleus, to know well what type of impacts we are going to analyze,” he commented.
The academic concluded his visit with an optimistic vision about future relations between Chile and China and hopes that these new ties of cooperation will lead to greater understanding and collaboration between both countries.
